Margot first visited Tanzania with Judy, Maasai Partners founder, in 2012 to assist with the very first women’s microfinance loan distribution. This trip inspired her to continue traveling, experiencing different cultures and working with community based organizations to generate change. She has interned with local NGOs in Brazil, India, and Cambodia working in fields of renewable resource technologies to women’s economic empowerment.

Margot graduated with a degree in biology from Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont College Consortium. She hopes to use her background in science to generate environmentally and socially sustainable solutions to global issues that are applicable to local communities.

By working with Tanzanian staff, Margot is picking up Swahili and learning more each day. She plans to continue working in sustainable international development and eventually pursue a master’s degree after gaining more experience in the field.
