We work in two distinct, rural Tanzanian communities – Karatu and Ngorongoro districts. Through community partnerships and independent programs, the support offered by Maasai Partners improves hundreds of lives in many different ways, and it encourages communities to grow from within.

“My business has helped me to solve many problems without help. NapirNowadays, I’m working instead of being workless. I am happier because now I am a business woman in the village. My family has more food. We are able to pay school fees and other basic needs. Please provide more loans making much better lives for women.”                             –Napir Mepukori

In collaboration with people like Napir, Maasai Partners works to improve lives across the gamut of human need. At the heart of our philosophy, we agree with Tanzania’s first president, Julius Nyerere, that for development to succeed the people must be involved.

“My business has enabled the family to get food. I can expand my business. I can control my life and help my family. Women are now able to depend on themselves.” –Laura Moshi Tsaqwa

We target many needs in this specific geographic area, rather than spreading out our services. We go “deep instead of wide,” encouraging our collaborating communities to solve problems through a grassroots approach.
